"Lights out" is at midnight. Residents can go to sleep earlier than this if they wish, but if they are up later they may be spotted by patrolling nurses and have privileges revoked.

All residents (with the exception of those suffering from physical illnesses that necessitate extra sleep) will be rudely awakened at 7 and must be out of their rooms by 9. (During this time they will be given a vitals check). Residents can wake up earlier than this if they wish, and are permitted to leave their rooms from 6am.

Clothing will be the residents' own unless it presents a danger. However, wearing one's own clothing is considered a privilege, so misdemeanors may result in the issuing of plain white clothing.

Smoking is permitted in the smoking area only or in the grounds. Smoking is considered a privilege that can be revoked.

Cuckoo's Nest is NOT a non-contact hospital, but some residents will be stringently monitored if they have been deemed potentially dangerous. Sex is not permitted on the grounds that all residents are vulnerable and sexual activity could count as exploitation. However, nurses may turn a blind eye to e.g. kissing if the residents involved are not considered a threat to each other.

Meal times are as follows:
Floor B - breakfast at 7, lunch at 12, dinner at 6
Floor C - breakfast at 7.30, lunch at 12.30, dinner at 6.30
Floor D - breakfast at 8, lunch at 1, dinner at 7
Residents will be escorted to the canteen. Those with eating disorders will be accompanied by hospital staff during and after mealtimes as well.
Residents are allowed up to an hour to eat.

Everybody's schedule will be slightly different but will include:
Monday am: Group therapy (2 hours), Art/music therapy
Monday pm: Physical therapy, Individual therapy (1 hour)
Tuesday am: Art/music therapy, physical therapy
Tusday pm: Individual therapy (1 hour)
Wednesday am: Group therapy (2 hours), Art/music therapy
Wednesday pm: Physical therapy, Individual therapy (1 hour)
Thursday am: Art/music therapy, physical therapy
Thursday pm: Individual therapy (1 hour)
Friday am: Group therapy (2 hours), Art/music therapy
Friday pm: Physical therapy, Individual therapy (1 hour), religious services for Jews and Muslims
Saturday - Individual therapy (1 hour), free time, visiting hours, movie night.
Sunday - free time, religious services for Christian groups and others, hobbies
